Keeping Children Active During the School Holidays

parentcomms

School holidays bring excitement for children but they can create pressure for parents trying to keep young minds engaged and active.

Without structure, it can be easy for days to become dominated by screens and indoor time. Holiday programmes offer a different experience.

They give children the chance to explore new activities, meet new friends and burn off the endless energy that comes with being young.

A great holiday camp balances variety and excitement.

Children might start the day with a football tournament, move into a creative activity like arts and crafts, then dive into something unexpected such as laser tag, team challenges or science experiments.

The variety keeps children curious.

Every day brings something new to try, new skills to practise and new friendships to build.

Holiday programmes also help children build independence. Being part of a group outside their normal classroom helps them grow socially and emotionally.

By the end of the week many children return home with stronger confidence, fresh experiences and plenty of stories to share.
